"Risk vs. Reward"

One of the hardest things as a wedding photographer is balance. The balance between what the client wants or what we think the client wants and what we, the photographer wants. It can be paralyzing. It's hard to have enough guts to swing for the fences and make the epic images and not just the safe ones. Over the past 14 years as a wedding photojournalist this struggle has been the most constant but I have developed ways that allow me to take risks and make the clients happy.
